QUESTION: Did Marx get his
idea, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”
from Acts 4:32-37?
ANSWER: If Marx did, then he
twisted the idea. The giving in Acts (and the rest of the Bible, for that
matter), is voluntary, not enforced by a government. The Bible promotes
generousity (see the Old
Testament and the Vulnerable), but forcing someone else to give is theft.
